Unique & Sustainable Pendant Lighting Design

The Tūī pendant light by David Trubridge was inspired by the real avian characters of Aotearoa’s native bush. These magnificent birds have two dangling white wattles on their throats and around their shoulders is a necklace of interwoven rings which is the inspiration of our Tūī light. Half rings of bamboo are woven into a basket form that would sit perfectly over a dining table, kitchen counter or equally hanging in a stairwell or entrance void.

Designed and manufactured in New Zealand, David Trubridge lighting and furniture designs are created to encourage sustainable living in a way that also nourishes people spiritually and culturally. This kind of “cultural design” marries technology with culture and nature to create a design style that’s unique to our time–one that’s both contemporary and timeless.
