From Stephen Pikus Design in South Africa, the TRuK range is what we like to call “perfectly imperfect”.  The fixtures began life as air filters with some spending 10,000 hours, or more, under the hood of a diesel engine haul truck, digger, etc. The filters have been given new life and beauty as they are repurposed, refinished and upcycled to become light fixtures. Because of their rough beginnings, the fixtures may show small blemishes, nicks and scars. We reject those that are ultimately too damaged, but you should expect that TRuK fixtures will not be 100% pristine. This is part of their beauty – like humans, the fixtures retain hints of a past life and each one is perfectly unique.
