Artisanal Lighting from San Miguel, Mexico
Luminosa draws on old world skills combined with contemporary design aesthetic and modern production techniques to create a range of pendant lights from Mexico. Jonathan Baskett’s design business is also a community project as he draws on many local designers and artisans who contribute to the range. Some designs are inspired by nature and the local flora and fauna of San Miguel de Allende where Jon’s studio is located. A variety of materials including molten glass, hand-beaten recycled copper and cast ceramic are crafted by hand, resulting in a lighting collection that delivers a unique and yet familiar warmth to any space. Ethically sourced, hand-made, and suitable for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
Luminosa™ is based in San Miguel de Allende Mexico, a picturesque colonial town in Central Mexico.
Whether one light for a house or a collection for a hotel, the firm´s methodology is client-focussed working directly with the architect, designer or individual to assist them in achieving their vision.
Utilizing a combination of modern technology and traditional hand-making techniques in materials as diverse as molten glass, hand-beaten copper and cast ceramic, the firm’s lighting is designed and manufactured to exacting standards and tolerances.

Luminosa™ is dedicated to the design and crafting of hand made architectural lighting, strongly influenced by design, material and the hand making process.
The lighting design studio´s collections of contemporary pendant lamps for the residential or commercial environment are available in a diverse range of materials, finishes and colors. We work with designers, artisans and directly with a variety of materials such as molten glass, hand-beaten recycled copper and cast ceramic.
