Lightfair International and ICFF were a big success.  It was great to see many of our manufacturers and rep family (whanau).  If you were not able to make it to these shows, we are excited to give you a recap of our exhibits.

ICFF

MAY 21-24, Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, NYC
David Trubridge and ANGO were back at ICFF after a 10 year break. For those of you that don’t know, ICFF is North America’s premier showcase for contemporary design. ICFF annually lures those in determined pursuit of design’s timely truths and latest trends to an encyclopedic exhibition of up-to-the-moment offerings, as well as a series of fascinating, fun, edifying programs, and a packed schedule of exhibits and features. It was great to be with many world class brands!

David Trubridge presented his “Beauty Matters” talk as well at ICFF as well as being on the panel for the darc “Decorating Interiors with Light” talk. See more info here.

Below are some images from the show as well as a video.

Stephen Pikus

This was the North American debut of Stephen Pikus’s TruK range of lighting pendants created from upcycled diesel engine oil filters (now stocked in Austin, Texas) and a preview of Fire & Ice (available 2018).

TRuK pendants are available in four sizes and four metallic finishes.   The pendants began life under the hood of a diesel truck, Stephen’s team breathes new life back into these objects as they are “reborn” as light fixtures that can be supplied with dry UL electrics for indoor use and damp UL electrics for hanging in a covered outdoors situation.

Fire + Ice utilized recycled glass that is cleaned & tumbled to create one of a kind frosted pieces that are linked together and hung from a metallic frame.   The pieces form a “curtain” of glass that refracts and diffuses light as well as moves with breeze and wind – sometimes the pieces clink together like a wind chime.  Glass pieces are available in white/clear as shown as well as many shades of blues and greens.

LIGHTFAIR

MAY 9-11 – Philadelphia
This was the first time wakaNINE exhibited at LIGHTFAIR, North America’s largest annual architectural and commercial trade lighting show.  Its an excellent show if you are looking to  catch up on lighting trends and technical advances.  Peter Tang (Design and Development) from David Trubridge Design attended.  wakaNINE showed David Trubridge’s new work, Navicula, HUSH and DRUM series along with some of his classics.  Philadelphia was a great city and the convention center a really nice venue.
